Cramer Fish Sciences
"The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers funds hatchery programs in the Willamette Basin to help mitigate impacts from the development and operation of the system of multi-purpose dams. Cramer Fish Sciences assembled a database of historic information on stocking of hatchery fish in the Willamette Basin. Using this database, they provided an assessment of impacts to ESA-listed salmonids resulting from stocking of catchable rainbow trout. We were very pleased with the thoroughness and quality of their work products and we hope to gain their assistance with future projects."

OVERVIEW

At Cramer Fish Sciences, we help clients in California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and Alaska find innovative solutions to challenges with fish populations and aquatic ecology. We specialize in:

  • determining the status of fish populations and their relationships with habitat and environmental features
  • Predicting population response to fish management actions (harvest, hatcheries, and passage).

We sample fish population, analyze data, and solve issues with salmon and trout populations along the entire West Coast. Our clients often rely upon us to:

  • conduct population assessments and simulation modeling
  • analyze fish habitat and flow influences
  • lead Endangered Species Act (ESA) status reviews and consultations
  • provide recovery planning
  • conduct impact studies
  • monitor fish and research studies

In addition to salmonids, we have strong expertise in sturgeon, pikeminnow, and burbot. We have also studied other freshwater and estuarine fishes.
