Project: Cedar River Weir, WashingtonCedar River Weir, Washington

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) contracted with CFS in 2007 to design, construct, deliver, and install a resistance board weir for collecting sockeye salmon broodstock in the Cedar River near Renton, Washington.

The weir was fabricated in our Central Valley shop during the summer of 2008 and was subsequently installed by CFS in September 2008. CFS staff trained SPU personnel in operation and maintenance of the weir. Operation of the weir this year was a success even in the face of the lowest sockeye return on record.
