Lindsey Belcher, B.S., Bio-Technician Lindsey graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Environmental Science from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. While earning her degree she designed and conducted research studies of various fresh and salt-water bodies to identify seasonal successions of phytoplankton and potentially harmful algal blooms. Before graduation she presented a selection of this research at the Fifth Symposium on Harmful Algae in the United States.

Since college, Lindsey has been involved in fisheries research projects with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the US Army Corp of Engineers. Her extensive field experience includes: surgical implantation of PIT tags and radio transmitters into juvenile steelhead and Chinook; rotary screw trap installation and maintenance; Chinook, Coho, and steelhead spawning ground surveys; habitat assessments and measurements; radio and acoustic telemetry equipment installation and maintenance; topographic surveys; and much more. Lindsey also has considerable experience navigating within remote locations, fish identification, and operating a variety of boats. In the office, Lindsey has experience with database management and statistical analysis utilizing Excel, Access, program R, and ArcGIS. She utilized these statistical skills plus her experience in public presentations to present her research on John Day Basin O. mykiss growth rates at the Oregon Chapter AFS Annual Meeting in February 2013.

Personal: In her time off Lindsey loves to explore the great outdoors, travel, and spend time with loved ones. When blessed with sun, you may find her backpacking, rock-climbing, or kayaking. Some of her favorite all season activities include painting, volunteering at a local humane society, and exchanging corny jokes.
