Hardworking. Dependable. Motivated. These are just some of the ways to describe
Paul Bergman's contribution to the Cramer Fish Sciences team.
He brings a combination of training in fisheries research and
habitat assessment, field data collection, data analysis abilities, and
people skills to his work as a fisheries biologist (Biologist 2) at Cramer Fish Sciences.
Responsibilities: Paul brings a commitment to fisheries ecology that has led him to work on
special projects such as providing support to a national aquatic GAP workshop
at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis in Santa Barbara,
California. He was also involved in establishing, implementing, and supervising
the first habitat assessment of the Little Plover River.
Projects/Services: His work as a fisheries biological technician
has included field work for a variety of agencies on trout habitat restoration
and improvement projects, biomonitoring and fish transplanting, surveillance of
exotic fish species on Lake Superior, and more. He has experience with a wide
variety of data collection techniques and protocols.
Background: Paul earned degrees in fisheries and limnology (BS, 2003)
and fisheries (MS, 2007) from the University of Wisconsin -- Stevens Point.
He actively participates in the American Fisheries Society and
has given presentations at conference events on his research on catchability of
trout in Wisconsin streams and the Little Plover River brook trout population.

Personal: Paul enjoys a variety of activities outside of work. These include playing tennis,
biking, hiking, watching movies, reading books, and — despite the odds
against him — rooting for the Chicago Cubs.
"But more than anything I like spending time with friends and family and
just enjoying each other's company." |
