Sephe takes raw data and turns it into visual information, through the magic of
GIS, or Geographic Information Systems. She performs complex analysis of geographic
data, and provides CFS clients with visual representations of the results to enable
them to make crucial fisheries decisions.
Background: Fox graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science
in Environmental Biology and a minor in Geographic Information Systems. Previously,
she had an extensive career in graphic design, which gave her a strong sense of the
power of visual communication.
She has worked for several years as associate director
of a non-profit environmental campaign on the beautiful Mendocino coast of California,
where she developed a wide range of administrative and research skills, as well as a
deep appreciation for the different social and economic issues affecting land-use
decisions.
Several seasons of biological fieldwork, including fish surveys with the California
Department of Fish and Game, round out her background.

Personal: Of all CFS staff members, Sephe is the closest to royalty.
She's named after two different queens (Boedicea, a Celtic warrior queen, and
Persephone, the Greek queen of the Underworld). Plus she's a native of England
and they have a Queen there, so that's good enough for us.
Besides talking to coworkers with a really cool
accent, what else does Sephe do for fun? "I love to hike, bike, camp, soak
in hot springs, and generally explore the majestic surroundings of the Pacific
Northwest and beyond. I have a weakness for gourmet restaurants and glasses of
good wine, which I try to indulge in at least once a week. At home, I enjoy
playing my drum set, particularly jazz and funk beats." |
